farewell 2021!
Happy last day of 2021 :)
I hope your day today has started off greatly wherever you may be! I’ve had a fun December and couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the year. After ending my first semester and finishing my assignments, I had a fun two weeks in the UK with my sisters and friends before flying back to Japan. Here’s a recap of what I’ve been doing these past few weeks :)
I spent the first few days of my break with my sister Yuka since she came to see Oxford after finishing her language exchange in Spain. We went to some cafes for tea breaks, saw the same Christmas market on Broad Street far too many times, and visited museums when it was too dark to see anything outside (right around 4:00 pm). We also got to join a Christmas dinner with my MA course which was a fun night :)
After that week, we headed to Cambridge to spend some time with Mina at her place. I hadn’t been back since September so it was lovely to see the petite city again :) During the day we took extensive walks around the city which was very soothing and also watched some movies to wind down at the end of the day. It’s been over two years since all three of us were in the same city so it was great to be back all together.
And now we’re back home in Japan after six days of isolation in the hotel arranged by the government. The whole process with covid restrictions seemed overwhelming before departing but everything at Haneda airport was very well managed with friendly staff sorting out all the logistics with us :) The six days in quarantine dragged on but with our messed up body clocks we killed lots of time with granny naps and eating food in bed when not:) We still have another week of self isolation at home but it feels good to be back!
I hope you enjoy the last hours of 2021 and may 2022 be an amazing year for you :D
