Gray skies of oxford
Hello! It’s been some time since I’ve posted on my blog, but I hope everyone’s been keeping warm in this cold cold season. It snowed in Oxford last weekend and it’s been freezing cold ever since! My hope was to write 2 blog posts this month but uni work got in the way so this is the only post of the month.
The beginning of November was very eventful with a nice fireworks festival for charity on the first weekend. I went down to South Park with friends from my university and we enjoyed the show with hot chocolates in our hands. The park was filled with food trucks and there was also a mini amusement park for kids to enjoy :) Though it was a very cold night, it was great fun and we thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks display!
The weekend after that my good friend Aliizee from my undergraduate days back in Tokyo came over from Paris to visit Oxford! It was a jam-packed 5 days but it was a lot of fun and also the highlight of my month:) Apart from the time I was in class we went around Oxford and enjoyed all we could! We had a proper English breakfast, saw a Christmas market, watched a movie in a local theater, visited Blenheim Palace, and even enjoyed a visit to the famous pub near Oxford University. The best part was our walk to the Thames River on a Sunday morning in the gray and gloomy weather of England :) It was a good 2 hours walk from the city center, but the trail along the canal and river was really refreshing. Aliizee took some awesome shots on her camera while I roamed around with the horses we met on the open field we crossed to get to the Thames.
The first half of the month was fruitful but the latter half has just been working on assignments and reports while hugging the radiator in my room for warmth so I won’t go deeper into that! It’s hard to believe that we dive into December tomorrow but very much looking forward to it :)
