painting new circles

How is it already the end of July?? This month has flown by so fast, it feels like it only just started! July has been very eventful, with highlights like a fun mymizu team day, meeting university friends after such a long time, and of course the olympics :) Here’s a quick run down on what I’ve been doing this month.

I spent one afternoon out on the beach in Enoshima with mymizu which was loads of fun :) It was my first time meeting the members in person after working remotely for over 3 months together! The weather was sizzling hot but I was happy to finally get to meet all the fascinating people I get to work with:D We have weekly zoom meetings so I knew how friendly and passionate they all are, and sure enough I got lots of good energy from them and felt very fortunate to have this opportunity:) We did a quick beach clean and some team building exercises, and to be able to do this all at the beautiful beach made the experience all the more fun!

I also got to meet up with Shifa and Lisa in Yokohama to go to the Art Bar! We joined the “Paint like Jackson Pollock” session where we got to splatter paint freely on our fresh white canvas. We first got instructions on what to do and the rest of the session was us doing whatever we wanted with our artwork :) I loved the casual and artsy atmosphere of the studio, and it was even better doing it with Lisa and Shifa :) If you’re feeling antsy and want to explore your creativity, there’s a good variety of classes you can choose from so I’m sure you’ll find something of your liking!

As for what I’m doing currently, I’m in the midst of volunteering for Tokyo 2020! It’s been a thrilling experience so far, and I’m happy to be a part of the games. I’m lucky to be surrounded by lots of friendly volunteers as well:) I’ll go into details in another blog post but so far I’ve been helping out with interviews in the mixed zone and escorting some of the foreign media crew. I’m assigned to the shooting range and I wasn’t familiar with the sport and frankly wasn’t fond of watching it either but after taking part in the sport, I’ve found it more interesting than I initially thought :) More details to come next month!

Here’s a few shots of the Olympic stadium I visited with my dad just last night :) It’s completely blocked with security but we walked the surroundings and managed to get some photos. That’s all for this month, I hope you’re taking care of yourselves in this hot weather!
