wrapping up 2020
It’s the last day of 2020 and I’m back in my hometown in Aichi spending time with family. I forgot to say Merry Christmas on here, but I didn’t get to properly celebrate this year since I was sadly stuck in office for both the 24th and 25th.. To give you an update on what I’ve been up to, I’ve basically been staying home and taking way too many naps then I should.. Other than the every day ritual, I’ve been taking nice one hour afternoon walks around the neighborhood, eating a weeks worth of desserts in just a few days, and have been cleaning out the house.
This year was a tough one since the very beginning but it’s finally coming to an end! With all the time spent indoors, I’m sure many of you made good use of this time while others took it as a time out from the everyday hustle and bustle(the latter would be me :D). This year was sadly not a year of travels, but I’ve managed to be okay with staying put in Nasu for the majority of it thanks to family and friends who’ve taken the time to accompany me both in person and virtually. There were times when I looked back at past photos that got me itching to take a flight to some faraway place, but I’ve also had the chance to reconnect with my roots and appreciate the beautiful sceneries of Japan. Launching this blog has also been a big achievement for me, and if it weren’t for all the excess time I had I probably wouldn’t have even started it.
Despite the limitations this year has posed on our daily freedom, this year has definitely slowed down the pace of life for me which was good to have. There’s no denial that there were more negative/tragic events this year, and the first months of 2021 will most probably be an extension 2020. Nevertheless, I’m still feeling appreciative of what this year has brought on this cold afternoon while I’m tucked in bed writing this quick reflection. I hope all of you are spending the last day of this year with family and close ones. For those that couldn’t make it home, take the time to treat yourself because we all deserve a pat on the back for making it this far. Thank you for following this blog until now; I’ve sure enjoyed posting on here this year!
Happy holidays from me to you and I’ll see you in 2021 :)
