weekend in tenerife
Here’s a recap of our first beach destination of 2023⛱
Last week I spent the 3 day weekend in Tenerife with my dear Gail for a little vacation to relax and cleanse our souls in the sun! Right after our graduation ceremony which was a fun gathering of all the people that made the MA course all the better, we quickly got changed and took the bus to the airport to board our afternoon flight. 4 hours later, we took a taxi to our airbnb only to have a cockroach welcome us at the entrance 😂. Cockroach aside the place was just what we hoped for if not more, and we were so so excited to use the balcony the next day to sit and read our books :)
We spent Saturday morning having breakfast at a cafe in a neighborhood just a 20 minutes walk away. The weather was too perfect not to eat outside so we enjoyed our toast and bagels with an ocean view 🌊. After doing some grocery shopping for the weekend we went on a search to find the shared pool our complex had and spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and reading by the poolside for hours until our skin couldn’t handle the sun anymore. We finished off the day with a nice Spanish dinner of fideuá which we devoured as soon as it was set on the table 🥘.
The next day we went to the beach for a dip in the morning which we were looking forward to the night before heading to bed :) The beach wasn’t crowded at all so we fully got to enjoy the sun and the black sand glittering in the water✨. After the beach we had lunch and went straight to the pool again to finish what we started the day before 🏊♀️. The pool, the view, the weather, and good company- I couldn’t have asked for more! These 2 days were so calm and refreshing that we were missing the island even before we left it.
All in all I had a fantastic time and throughly enjoyed relaxing in and by the water. Our luxurious weekend ended with a flight delay and an unexpected layover in Lisbon but this was a 5 star holiday I wish I could relive again! I highly recommend Tenerife if you’re in need of a beach holiday :)Thanks Gail for the best time!
