spring clean

I hope everyone is having a great last day of March! 🌸

This month has been both busy and slow for me but all in all a good month of visiting Japan to see the family and the cherry blossom trees in full bloom. My trip started off with me nearly missing my connecting domestic flight to my hometown but from then on it’s been smooth sailing so far! The weather has been on our side for the most part and just being outside for a small walk around the neighborhood is all I need to feel the spring warmth☀️ I hadn’t been able to see the cherry blossom trees last spring so I’m so glad to be able to this year!

For the most part, I’ve been spending time with family enjoying the nice spring weather to see the sakura trees in nearby parks and shrines and sometimes randomly on the streets we pass by whist driving around. In the first few days of being back I celebrated my birthday and Yuka’s graduation the following day which I was glad to be present for! Seeing my grandparents and spending time with them over a table full of homemade food is an event I’m always excited about when coming back, and this time was another heartwarming visit I wish I could repeat more often. We also got to go see the sakura trees and other flowers in full bloom together as well this time which made it all the more fun :)

Apart from the seasonal festivities, I also spent a week in the hospital last week getting surgery done but that’s now finished and I’m now resting at home. I’ve enjoyed being able to relax and take it slow this week and am thankful I have this time to just do absolutely nothing :) I’ve crossed the midway point of my stay here this trip, but I hope to spend the rest of it absorbing the view of the cherry blossom trees everyday until I fly back to the UK!
